Cereal and oil planting households with more than 10 mu planting area increased to 95,900, including the largest rice planting household with a planting area of 1,359 mu, the largest oil planting household 500 mu, said Chongqing Agriculture Bureau.
This increase attributes to the inspiration from market and policies, said Chongqing Agriculture Bureau. The planting expansion was encouraged by the stable cereal price and the rising rapeseed price.
The planting leaders locate in the central and the western Chongqing, flat land with better mechanized operation condition. However, the largest planting household is still Liang Xingguo in Hongtu Village, Fengjie County. With a rice planting area of 1,359 mu, Mr. Liang is the "National Cereal Production Model" of last year.
