(CQNEWS) Chongqing will strive to become an open land in the hinterland of China in 5 years. Thus, the road and water channels'programming should be adjusted and consummated so as to cater for the requirement of Chongqing's economic and social development, according to director of Chongqing Communication Commission on July 24. 

A total of 145 billion yuan will be invested in traffic construction in the next 5 years to build up a traffic system of "4 hours within Chongqing", "8 hours to neighborhood", "8 hours to coast areas" by 2012.
