The reef bombing project in Tongluoxia-Louxigou section of the Three Gorges Reservoir has been inspected and accepted, thus the downstream of the Yangtze River from Jiulongpo has met the standard of the Primary Design Report on the Three Gorges Project of the Yangtze River and 10,000-ton fleets can ship to Chongqing directly, according to China Three Gorges Project Corporation on Sept. 3.

According to the primary design, the Three Gorges Reservoir will store water to level of 175m, which will greatly improve the shipping safety if without the threat from the 8 shoals and reefs, such as the ones in Shangwangshi and Banzhenbei.

This project started in Jan. this year and bombed 320.000 m³ reefs in total. Over 90 million yuan has been invested by China Three Gorges Project Corporation.
