(CQNEWS) Eight highway projects with total length of 412km will be finished in this year, including south, north and east sections of Outer Ring Highway, Shuijiang-Wulong, Wulong-Pengshui, Pengshui-Qianjiang, Shizhu-Zhongxian and Jiangjin-Hejiang highways, which will make the total length of Chongqing highways mounts to 1,500km, according to 2009 Chongqing Traffic Meeting on Jan. 19.

Outer Ring Highway, the second ring in Chongqing highway network, measures 186km long with 6 lanes in both directions and 100-120 km/h design speed.

Chongqing-Hunan Highway, the quickest way leading to coastal cities, starts from Jieshi Town in Ba��nan District and ends in Changsha of Hunan Province with total length of 848km.

Chongqing-Yichang Highway under its speedy progress now can shorten the time needed between the cities to 5-6 hours from the current one day and night.
