The celebration party to mark the 10th anniversary of Chongqing Municipality��s establishment began with the symphony The Yangtze River last night at Chaotianman Square in Yuzhong District.

    The one-hour symphonic poemThe Yangtze River portrays the Yangtze��s different scenery in each chapter, said the president of the opera house on June 13.

    The celebration party is also the opening ceremony of the first China Chongqing Culture and Art Festival sponsored by Chongqing Municipal Government and themed at celebrating the 10th anniversary of Chongqing Municipality��s establishment and displaying the tradition of Ba people.

    A series of classical plays, cultural fairs, art exhibitions and academic reports will be presented during the festival to show the great achievements in the municipality��s cultural field.
