Rapid Growth of Industrial Economy in Chongqing from January to May

Some industrial enterprises in Chongqing suffered great loss in May because of the Sichuan Wenchuan Earthquake. Chongqing persisted to work for the earthquake rescue and at the same time the industrial production. The industrial economy kept balanced production and sale and remained in stable growth. The enterprises above designated size have achieved industrial value-added of RMB15.08 billion in May, a rise of 27.7%; the aggregated value-added during January to May was RMB 66.22 billion, a rise of 24.1% and 7.8 percentage points higher than the national average rise, and it ranked the 2nd in China. These enterprises have achieved the sales of RMB 46.06 billion, a rise of 36.4%; the aggregated sales during January to May amounted to RMB 200.72 billion, a rise of 34.2%. The total output value of new products was RMB 65.2 billion, a rise of 47.6%; the output value rate of new products was 31.7%, a y-o-y rise of 3.3 percentage points. The export delivery value was RMB 11.72 billion, a rise of 31.5%, and the production/sale ratio was 97.5%, a y-o-y rise of 1.2 percentage points.
