Local automaker topped the list of taxpayers in 2008 of Chongqing followed by two tobacco factories, according to a recent announcement by Chongqing State Tax Bureau and Chongqing Local Tax Bureau. In the list which is called ��Top 50 Taxpayers of Chongqing 2008��, the automaker Changan Ford Mazda Automobile Co. Ltd. recorded a tax return of RMB 2.868 billion, followed by Fuling Cigarette Factory and Qianjiang Cigarette Factory of Chongqing Tobacco Industry Co., Ltd. which recorded a tax return of RMB 1.175 billion and RMB 1.097 billion respectively.

 

Enterprises on the list paid taxes of RMB 17.754 billion in total in 2008, in which, 22 from the manufacturing sector contributed the largest share, RMB 10.927 billion in total. Other enterprises are mainly from such sectors as electricity, gas and water utilities, finance, information transmission, computer service and software, transportation, storage and postal service, wholesales and retailing, and real estate.
