To attract outstanding foreign students, the Chongqing Municipal People's Government has set up the Chongqing Municipal People's Government Mayor Scholarship for international students. The Mayor Scholarship is offered to outstanding foreign students who are studying for a Ph.D., Master's degree, Bachelor's degree or further study for more than one year (including one year) in Chongqing. The scholarship is renewable every year within the required years of study for those studying for a degree, and for the further study students it covers one year.
