Chongqing Vocational College of Resources and Environmental Protection is a full-time institution of higher learning approved by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, registered with the Ministry of Education, and administered by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. It is a higher vocational college with distinctive strengths in resources and environmental disciplines. The school is located in Dazu District, Chongqing, known as the hometown of Chinese stone carving and the hardware capital of western China. The campus covers a vast area with a beautiful environment, modern buildings, and well-equipped infrastructure. The school is a vice-president unit of the Chongqing Engineers Association, a standing council unit of the Chongqing Environmental Culture Promotion Council, and a vice-president unit of the Financial Branch of the Chongqing Higher Education Association.

The school has the advantages of expert-led administration and professor-led academic development. It has a professional construction team with doctoral professors serving as academic leaders and teachers with master's degrees as the backbone. There are more than 200 teachers with solid theoretical foundations and excellent technical skills, including nearly 100 teachers with associate senior professional titles or above. Enterprise experts are employed as dual-qualified teachers, while renowned experts and scholars in the field of environmental protection, as well as frontline engineering and technical personnel from industry, are employed as nearly 150 part-time guest professors. The school has more than 500 faculty and staff members and over 10,000 students. The school currently has five secondary colleges and offers 31 majors. It focuses on developing professional groups covering the entire industrial chain, ranging from cleaner production at the source of environmental protection to circular economy practices and terminal engineering management, as well as health-related professional groups. The school has signed school-government-enterprise cooperation agreements with government departments, more than 100 enterprises, and more than 30 kindergartens. The school, together with the Dazu District Ecological Environment Bureau, has established the Ecological Environment Protection Education Integration Innovation Center and the Dazu District Ecological Environment Monitoring Station. It has also jointly established the Intelligent Manufacturing Industry College with SAIC Volkswagen. The school is a national talent training base in key fields of industry and information technology and has undertaken the Ministry of Education's Phase II Supply-and-Demand Matching Employment and Education Project. Through cooperation with enterprises, the school carries out applied research and technology development, further promoting the integration of industry and education, the integration of science and education, and collaborative talent cultivation.
