Chongqing Water Resources and Electric Engineering College is a public full-time ordinary college approved by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government and recorded by the Ministry of Education of China. It is a national high-level training base for senior skilled personnel, a national demonstration college for higher vocational education in water conservancy, a backbone vocational college in Chongqing, a post-doctoral scientific research workstation in Chongqing, and a national high-quality vocational college in water conservancy and a construction unit for Chongqing’s “Double High-Levels Plan”.

The college was originally established in 1964 and was upgraded to a full-time regular higher education institution in 2004. It covers an area of 936 acres, with over 300 internship bases both on and off campus, and offers 42 majors covering 10 major categories, including water conservancy, electric power, resources, environment and safety, energy, power and materials, equipment manufacturing, education, and sports.

At present, there are 13,700 full-time students, more than 720 faculty members, 165 professors and associate professors, more than 350 people with postgraduate degrees or above, and more than 50 doctors. It has 8 municipal top teachers and famous teachers, 143 core teachers, and 268 double-professionally-titled teachers. Teachers and students have won more than 100 awards in national, provincial and ministerial vocational skills competitions, and more than 300 national, provincial and ministerial awards in sports, literature and art.
