Chongqing Industrial and Trade Polytechnic (CQITP) is a full-time general higher vocational school held by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government. It is honored as “Chongqing Municipal Advanced Unit for Vocational Education”,“Chongqing Municipal Model Vocational College". Since its establishment in 1936, more than 100,000 technical talents and management talents have been cultivated for the country from here.

The college is located in Fuling, the hinterland of the Three Gorges Reservoir Region, and the intersection of Yangtze and Wujiang Rivers, and the hometown of pickled mustard. CQITP covers an area of 330,000 square meters with 453 million RMB in fixed assets, 119 million RMB of equipment for teaching and research, 7 intramural productive training bases, 160 internal training rooms and a 2.01 million volume library collection.

The college has 10 teaching institutions, including the School of Intelligent Manufacturing, the School of Artificial Intelligence, the School of Finance and Economics, the School of Health, the School of Architecture and Engineering, the School of Vehicle Engineering, the School of Education, the School of Continuing Education, the School of Marxism, and the International Exchange and Cooperation Center. It offers 49 majors, including Mechatronics Technology, Industrial Robot Technology, Big Data Technology and Application, Artificial Intelligence Technology Application, Big Data and Accounting, Drug Production Technology, Automobile Manufacturing and Testing Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, and Preschool Education. There are 2 National Backbone Majors, 1 High-Level Professional Group of Chongqing's "Double High Plan", 4 High-Quality Professional Groups of Chongqing, 5 Backbone Majors of Chongqing, 4 Demonstration Majors of Chongqing, 3 Dual Base Majors of Chongqing, 1 Professional Capacity Improvement Project Major of Chongqing, and 5 School-Enterprise Cooperation Majors in the college.
