Chongqing Three Gorges Medical College is an institution of higher learning approved by the Ministry of Education, organized by the Chongqing Municipal People’s Government, and administered directly by the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Education. The campus of Chongqing Three Gorges Medical College is located in Wanzhou District, Chongqing Municipality. It boasts a land covering of more than 2,071 mu (nearly equivalent to 341 acres) and a housing system of over 698,000 square meters. Moreover, it owns 2 directly affiliated hospitals with over 2,000 beds available, 8 non-directly affiliated hospitals, and 10 teaching hospitals.

The college is academically organized into 9 teaching departments, including Clinical Sciences, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Nursing and Pharmacy, etc. The College of Pharmacy offers majors including Pharmacy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Drug Operation and Management, Pharmaceutical Preparation Technology, Pharmaceutical Equipment Application Technology, Drug Quality and Safety, Traditional Chinese Medicine Pharmaceutical Technology, and Traditional Chinese Medicine Production and Processing. The college enrolls students from 26 provinces and municipalities across the country. There are currently over 22,500 full-time students. Today, more than 1,700 faculty members instruct these students in college, and over 300 possess senior professional titles.

The college attaches great importance to international exchange and cooperation, and establishes friendly cooperative relations with 12 foreign institutions (units). The school serves the “Belt and Road” Initiative, explores the “go global” model of traditional Chinese Medicine, and facilitates people-to-people exchanges between China and foreign countries. It actively participates in the development of 22 international education resources, such as the international vocational standards of Tanzania. The college has jointly established “Shennong College” with medical colleges (institutions) in Uzbekistan, Uganda, and other countries, and has carried out multi-form and multi-level cooperation and exchanges in long-term as well as short-term international student education and teacher training. It cultivates 189 international students, and provides appropriate techniques training of traditional medicine for 154 people. It has also been approved to carry out a number of municipal and international projects over the years.
