Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences (CUAS) is a full-time general undergraduate institution of higher education sponsored by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, a national language standardization demonstration school, a garden-style unit in Chongqing, a high-level new engineering construction university in Chongqing, and the first batch of national innovation and entrepreneurship universities. In 2021, CUAS was approved as a master's degree-granting unit.

There are 15 schools and 66 undergraduate majors covering 10 disciplines such as Literature, Science, Engineering, Management, Education, Agriculture, and Economics, realizing a successful transformation into a multidisciplinary, application-oriented and comprehensive university with 23,000 students. Three majors, which are Mechanical, Material and Chemical Engineering, and Agriculture, have been approved as master's degree authorization units.

It has signed cooperation agreements with more than 30 universities in the United States, Russia, Italy and other countries, and is a subsidized unit of the State Scholarship Council for sending students abroad. It has trained more than 300 overseas students, and jointly trained more than 600 graduate students with more than 40 universities, including Chongqing University and University of Electronic Science and Technology.
