Chongqing is an important educational hub in the central and western regions of China, with abundant educational teaching resources. Higher education has advanced to a globally recognized stage of popularization, vocational education consistently ranks among the top in the nation, and basic education is developing with high quality and balance. Chongqing's universities offer a comprehensive range of disciplines, with 91 disciplines ranking in the top 1% globally in the ESI rankings. Some emerging STEM disciplines and cutting-edge interdisciplinary subjects are leading nationwide, and educational digital transformation is rapidly developing. Chongqing has 85 Sino-foreign cooperative education institutions and programs at the specialized and higher levels. It has established 14 Confucius Institutes in 11 countries, deeply implements the "Belt and Road" education initiative, continuously improves regional educational cooperation mechanisms, and annually attracts more than ten thousand international students from over a hundred countries to study in Chongqing.
