It is also equipped with advanced communications, navigation, meteorological, and other key air traffic management facilities, together with self-service check-in facilities for passengers. The airport can accommodate Boeing 737-series, Airbus A320-series, and smaller passenger aircraft.

Wushan Airport officially opened on August 16, 2019. During the current flight season, it serves destinations including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Chongqing, with flights operated by Chongqing Airlines and China Southern Airlines. Routes to Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Kunming, and other major Chinese cities are planned to be introduced progressively.
