Chongqing North Railway Station is located in the former Yubei District (now part of Liangjiang New Area) and serves major rail lines including the Zhengzhou-Chongqing High-Speed Railway, the Nanjing-Chengdu Railway, and the Chongqing-Huaihua Railway. The station’s architectural concept, “The Mountain City Welcomes Guests, the Three Gorges Greet Travelers,” draws inspiration from Chongqing’s layered mountain terrain and the world-famous Three Gorges. Its exterior translates the city’s mountain landscape into horizontal, terraced forms, while the facade is divided into three canyon-like sections according to function. The clean, striking design reflects the resilience, boldness, and openness associated with Bayu (Chongqing) culture. The interior carries forward the idea of Chongqing as a city of mountains and rivers, with design elements evoking the constant flow of water and people. The station has one entrance at ground level and another at platform level, as well as three ticket halls. The station building covers 80,000 square meters, including 18,000 square meters of waiting areas, and has 26 platforms.

Established in 2011, the Malian Service Desk is led by Ma Lian, a recipient of the National May 1 Labor Medal, and staffed by carefully selected service personnel. It provides ticketing information, lost-and-found services, complaint handling, assistance for passengers in need, guidance for ticket purchases, and inquiries about remaining ticket availability. Since its establishment, the team has upheld the railway sector’s commitment to “Serving the People,” providing attentive and considerate assistance to travelers and doing its utmost to meet passenger needs. It has become a trusted service point for passengers. The Malian Service Desk has received numerous honors, including the National May 1 Women’s Model Post, Outstanding Party Member Service Brand of China Railway, Advanced Women Workers’ Collective of China Railway, Chongqing Worker Pioneer, Chongqing Model Post for Learning from Lei Feng (a heroic soldier), and National Model Site for Learning from Lei Feng.
