Chongqing Art Museum

Chongqing Art Museum was established on the basis of the former Chongqing Painting Academy, also known as the Chongqing Traditional Chinese Painting Academy. It is a public cultural institution directly under the Chongqing Municipal Commission of Culture and Tourism Development.

The museum is responsible for organizing and presenting art exhibitions, acquiring and preserving artworks, supporting artistic creation and promotion, conducting academic research in art, carrying out international and domestic exchange, and providing art education and training services. It was completed and opened to the public free of charge in October 2013.

Chongqing Art Museum, together with Chongqing Painting Academy and Chongqing Traditional Chinese Painting Academy, has a floor area of 8,200 square meters. It contains four exhibition halls, with a total exhibition line of about 1,000 meters.
