Chongqing is located in Southwest China, on the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. It spans 28°10’–32°13’ N and 105°17’–110°11’ E, extending 470 km east-west and 450 km north-south, with a total area of 82,400 square kilometers. It borders Hubei and Hunan provinces to the east, Guizhou Province to the south, Luzhou, Neijiang, Ziyang, and Suining in Sichuan Province to the west, and Shaanxi Province as well as Guang’an and Dazhou in Sichuan Province to the north.
