The current version of the Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card of the People's Republic of China was officially issued and put into use on December 1, 2023. The Foreign Permanent Resident ID card may be used as an identity document to handle securities and futures transactions, as well as the subscription and redemption of investment fund shares. Many securities companies have launched their online account opening functions for foreign nationals holding the new version of the Foreign Permanent Resident ID Card.
