(1) Foreigners who need to change their reason for stay and be granted entry facilitation, or need to apply for a renewal of an ordinary visa due to objective reasons for splitting from a group tour after entering with a group visa or obtaining a renewed passport, shall submit the following supporting documents:

(2) For foreigners who apply for renewal of their passport due to its expiration or the running out of visa pages, they shall submit the passport held at the time of the current entry or relevant certification issued by the embassy or consulate of their country in China indicating that the passport they held at the current entry has been retrieved. In return, a visa with the same type, entry validity period, duration of stay and  remaining valid number of entries as the original visa may be renewed.

(3) Foreigners who add accompanying persons after entry shall submit the passport used for this entry and the birth certificates of the accompanying persons. The visa may be renewed in accordance with the preceding provisions of this article.

(4) Foreigners who enter the country with a group visa and apply for a group stay shall submit a letter of certification from the receiving travel agency and other materials. The visa may be renewed in accordance with the preceding provisions of this article.

The cumulative stay period indicated in the renewed visa shall not exceed one year, calculated continuously from the date of the current entry.
