The Caiyuanba Yangtze River Bridge connects Yuzhong and Nan’an districts across the Yangtze River. Carrying both road traffic and Chongqing Rail Transit Line 3, it forms part of the major arterial road network in northern Chongqing. The bridge has a main span of 420 meters. Its distinctive “flying swallow” profile is created by a half-through steel-truss arch structure, making it both a vital transport corridor and a prominent urban landmark. It was the first completed bridge in Chongqing to carry rail transit.

Construction began in 2003, and the bridge opened in 2007. In 2010, it received the Ninth Tien-yow Jeme Civil Engineering Prize.
