The Dazu Rock Carvings refer collectively to all stone carvings and sculptures located in Dazu District, Chongqing. To date, 75 carved sites have been officially recognized as protected cultural heritage sites, containing more than 50,000 individual statues. Among these, the grottoes of Beishan, Baodingshan, Nanshan, Shimenshan, and Shizhuanshan are particularly notable for their artistry and historical significance.

Chongqing Wulipo was approved by the State Council as a national nature reserve in June 2013. Located in northeastern Wushan County, the reserve borders Dajiuhu in Shennongjia National Park, Hubei Province to the north, and Chongqing Yintiaoling National Nature Reserve to the west. It is a forest ecosystem nature reserve.

Wulong lies at the junction of the Wuling and Daluo mountain ranges, in a folded mountain zone of deep hills and river valleys. Its landscape is often described in terms of “seven parts of mountains, one part of water, and two parts of farmland”: in other words, mountains and hills dominate the terrain, while rivers, valleys, and limited farmland are interwoven throughout the area. Karst landforms are especially prominent here.

Jinfo Mountain is located on the southern edge of Chongqing, south of Nanchuan District. Also known as Jinshan Mountain, it belongs to the Dalou Mountains and consists of three main peaks: Jinfo, Baizhi, and Qingba. The mountain is rich in water systems, well preserved in its primary vegetation, and marked by distinctive karst landforms.
